![]() If you care about the long term health of the turtle you will splurge on the extra, but if you're on a budget and need something quick having one bulb isn't going to kill it. (I grew plants with just an incandescent bulb before). I don't think it's absolutely necessary to have two bulbs, but I feel more comfortable with two. Pretty much one bulb is basically an incandescent (heat/UVA) and the other a halogen (UVB). ![]() I use two types of bulbs, a heating bulb and a UV bulb. For my tank I made a customer separator, maybe you can put it behind a big rock or something but try to not allow it to have access to cords and other things.Īs for the water level to me it's fine, your turtle isn't going to move much if it's cold. A warning about heaters tho, is that turtles love to bite new things. A heater would be good, 66degrees is cold and turtles are cold blooded. I'm not going to be mean and nasty some as the other comments.
